  1. SUPPORT FOR 32-BIT WINSOCK APPLICATIONS, MORE STABLE EMULATION
  2.  
  3. First off, Pipeline now supports 32-bit Winsock apps like Netscape32 and
  4. Microsoft's Internet Explorer for Windows 95.  (A full-fledged version of
  5. Pipeline for Windows 95 is still in the works.)  Also, our Winsock
  6. emulation (both 16 & 32-bit) is now much more stable, which means no more
  7. "Reentrant errors", and immediate response to input like when you click
  8. the "Stop" button in Netscape.

  11. MAIL & NEWS CHANGES
  12.  
  13. The composer window now has buttons for To, CC and BCC which bring up a
  14. new form called the Address Manager.  The Address Manager makes the
  15. selection of addresses from the address book easier.  More features like
  16. sorting are in development.

  18. The contents of the address book can now be printed out. 
  19.  
  20. The table of contents column widths are now saved.

  23. OTHER NEW FEATURES

  25. Created a 32-bit Winsock Switcher (see the text file in the Pipeline icon
  26. group for complete details).

  28. Offline help has been replaced with online help.  This allows the
  29. installation to be only one disk, plus it means help documentation is
  30. always the most up to date we have available.

  32. The PSINet numbers are now included in the direct dial option.  (The 
  33. original direct dial numbers are being phased out.)

  35. Added Microsoft Internet Explorer to the list of web browsers in Options 
  36. & Preferences.

  38. When Netscape has been previously loaded and is selected as the default
  39. browser, opening a new web site from Pipeline now causes Netscape to
  40. appear on top of other windows instead of remaining in the background.

  42. Ability to access secure sites with third-party web browsers.

  44. The FTP/Archie window now automatically displays the default archie server
  45. in the "Advanced" section.  The default server is the last one you used 
  46. in your most recent search.

  48. The Telnet window now has a bookmark menu bar item.

  50. The messages like <1.1> that sometimes show up on the status bar of the
  51. main Pipeline window do not show anymore.  The messages came up when a
  52. window was closed that was still receiving data.  Not an error, but it did
  53. cause confusion since there was no explanation of what that was.

  56. BUG FIXES
  57.  
  58. Fixed the problem with incorrect passwords where mail could not be
  59. accessed.  The second password (enterned manually) is now used correctly.

  61. Fixed the problem closing the news/mail window when it was adding items to
  62. the table of contents (TOC).  This caused the window to close and then
  63. come back up with no TOC. The solution was to not allow the news/mail
  64. window to be closed when it is adding items to the TOC.

  66. Fixed an intermittent problem with data files for mail/news not always 
  67. deleting from the hard drive.
  68.  
  69. Email no longer hard-coded to original install directory, which means you
  70. can change the Pipeline directory without getting errors like "Cannot open
  71. outbox engine", etc.

  73. CC filter in email works now.
